La Quinta Beach Resort proudly announces the launch of its syntropic agroforestry garden, marking a new step in its commitment to sustainable tourism and human-centered hospitality.
Developed in partnership with Rhakeem Samuel of Dr. Greenthumb Aruba – Garden Consultancy & Maintenance, the initiative introduces regenerative agriculture into the resort’s operations. With the active involvement of team members, the project lays the foundation for a Farm-to-Members and Staff concept, where fresh, locally grown produce will be cultivated on property.
This initiative reflects La Quinta’s belief that sustainability starts from within, through the care extended to its people, its guests, and the island it calls home.
At the heart of the project is soil regeneration, a core principle of syntropic agroforestry. Rather than simply using the land, this method restores it by layering plant species, increasing organic matter, and working in harmony with natural cycles. The result is healthier soil, improved water retention, greater biodiversity, and a more resilient ecosystem over time.
The garden was made possible through the collective effort of La Quinta’s staff, whose hands-on participation brought the initiative to life.
A special moment during the launch included La Quinta President, Mr. Stephen Scaturro, who planted the first plant, symbolizing the resort’s continued investment in long-term sustainability.
As the garden grows, La Quinta will continue integrating its harvest into the guest and staff experience, reinforcing a model where hospitality and environmental responsibility grow side by side.
